The Waunakee IDEA grew out of a felt need within our community.
What began as an ad hoc committee of the Waunakee School Board quietly took root and grew into something more —
a community-based nonprofit founded by Joel Lewis, where every letter of our name tells you exactly who we are:
Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access.

We build bridges across differences, empower voices that are too often unheard, and engage with our community through mutual respect, curiosity, and openness.
